\n | \n Join the Rice County Historical Society at the Faribault American
\n Legion on Friday\, June 9th\, 2017\, for dinner\, a silent auction\, and
\n entertainment by the Koopmans? Orchestra. Social Hour begins
\n at 5pm\, dinner will be served at 6pm\, and the band will begin at 7pm.
\n \;
\n The Koopmans? Orchestra is a locally based band that has history
\n extending back to 1948\, when Roger Koopmans of Faribault
\n organized the band while he was still in high school. The original
\n group included up to 16 instrumentalists from the region\, and
\n arranged for 4-5 gigs each year. Recently Gary Anderson\, a
\n clarinetist who started playing in Koopmans Orchestra at the
\n age of 13\, bought the band from Roger. We are excited to
\n have this group share their always-popular Big Band music
\n with us for our fundraising event.
\n \;
\n During the evening we will also have a silent auction of
\n merchandise and services from area businesses\, as well
\n as a raffle. All proceeds will support the Rice County Historical
\n Society?s ongoing programs and activities and help continue
\n to preserve the rich history of Rice County and to share our
\n history with the community. \; This evening promises to be one
\n you will not want to miss and won?t forget.

\n Dinner/event tickets are $25.00 each. \; We also have a limited
\n number of $100 raffle tickets which include: two dinner/event
\n tickets (a $50.00 value)\, a 1 in 5 chance of winning your $100
\n back\, and a 1 in 100 chance of winning the grand prize of $1\,500.
