DESCRIPTION:We schedule this event for March 20th\, 2018 during National Ag Week\, when the importance of agriculture is in the national spotlight. \n\n	Lynn Ketelson of the Linder Farm Network will emcee the event. The featured speakers are \n	Megan Roberts\, Ag Business Management Educator\, University of Minnesota Extension \n	Bev Durgan\, Dean of University of Minnesota Extension.\n\nThe menu features locally sourced foods delightfully prepared by Arna Farmer Catering and Cakes.  \n\n\n\nMark your calendar and check back for more information!\n\nAll are welcome to attend this event.\n\nFarm Friendly Sponsor:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMegan Roberts is an Extension Educator in Agricultural Business Management for the University of Minnesota.\n\nHer primary programming focuses on Farm Transition Planning and the Women in Ag Network. \n\n She holds a B.S. and M.S. from the University of Minnesota and is currently a doctoral candidate in Agricultural Education in a joint program offered by Texas A&M University and Texas Tech University. Additionally\, Megan is proud to farm corn\, soybeans\, and hogs with her husband in rural Blue Earth County.\n\n\n\nBeverly R. Durgan has dedicated her career to connecting Extension and research with the citizens of Minnesota.\n\nAs Dean of University of Minnesota Extension\, she leads a team of more than 800 employees who deliver practical and useful research-based education and information to Minnesotans.\n\nBefore becoming Dean in 2005\, she oversaw agricultural research and Extension in several administrative roles at the University. She holds a faculty appointment in the Department of Agronomy and Plant Genetics\, where she is a weed scientist focused on small grains and specialty crops. Dean Durgan is widely known as a national leader in her academic discipline as well as in Extension and academic organizations.\n\nA native of Montana\, she was raised on an irrigated corn and small-grain farm. She earned a bachelor's degree in Business Management at Montana State University\, and M.S. and doctorate degrees in Agronomy from North Dakota State University.
