DESCRIPTION:Media Release - from the Environmental Services Department "Rice County Announces: Electronic & Appliance Recycling Collection Events"\n\n \nThe Rice County Environmental Services Department will be conducting three electronics and appliance recycling events this October. These recycling events are free for Rice County residents. A valid ID (driver's license or utility bill with ID verification) will be required to participate. Appliances and electronics from businesses or out-of-county residents will not be accepted.\n\n \n\nThe free county recycling event dates and locations are as follows:\n\n \n\n October 10\, 2015: 8:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m. at the Rice County Fairgrounds in Faribault (Enter Fairgrounds off of Hwy 3)\n\n \n\n October 17\, 2015: 8:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m. at the Rice County Highway Shop in Lonsdale (110 5th Ave NW\, Lonsdale)\n\n \n\n October 24\, 2015: 8:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m. at the Rice County Highway Shop in Dundas (597 County Road 1)\n\n \n\nThe following are the types of items that will be accepted at these events: television sets\, computer monitors\, computer towers and laptops\, household printers\, fax machines\, small electronic video games and devices\, rechargeable devices such as cell phones and MP3 players/iPods\, refrigerators\, freezers\, washers and dryers\, microwave ovens/stoves\, dishwashers\, garbage disposals\, trash compactors\, air conditioners\, dehumidifiers\, hot water heaters\, and heat pumps/furnaces.\n\n \n\nItems not accepted include: garbage or household hazardous waste\; small devices such as fans\, toasters\, hair dryers\, electric pans and blenders.\n\n \n\nFor more information on these collection events\, please contact Rice County Environmental Services at 507-332-6833 or via email at RCSolidWaste@co.rice.mn.us.
