DESCRIPTION:THE GOOD LIE\n\nBrought to you by: The Faribault Diversity Coalition\, Rice County Family Service Collaborative and The Village Theater\n\n\n\nCome Meet Kuoth Wuiel! \n\nFaribault's very own Hollywood Star!\n\n\n\nShowing of her movie "The Good Lie" will be Thursday\, November 5th from 5 to 7pm.  Kuoth will appear personally in Faribault to answer questions about her life\, her career and her connection to the Sudanese refugee experience.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThey were know simply as the "The Lost Boys."\n\n\n\nOrphaned by the brutal Civil war in Sudan that began in 1983\, these young victims traveled as many as a thousand miles on foot in search of safety.  Fifteen years later\, a humanitarian effect would bring 3600 lost boys and girls to America.\n\n\n\nIn "The Good Lie\, "Philippe Falardeau\, (writer and director of the Oscar nominated Foreign Language film "Monsieur Lazhar") brings the story of their survival and triumph of life.  Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon ("Walk the Line") stars alongside Sudanese actors Arnold Oceng\, Ger Duany\, Emmanuel Jal\, and newcomer Nyakuoth Weil\, many of whom were also children of war.
