Healthcare Update

District One Hospital and the Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce will host an information session to discuss healthcare reform, MNSure (Minnesota’s Health Insurance Exchange) and to provide an update on healthcare in Faribault by the Healthcare Campus providers.  Presenters include Matt Anderson, Minnesota Hospital Association, VP of Regulatory and Strategic Affairs as well as Physicians and Leadership from the Healthcare Campus including District One Hospital, Allina Health and Mayo Clinic Health System.

Matt Anderson, Minnesota Hospital Association, VP of Regulatory and Strategic Affairs
Matt Anderson is vice president of regulatory and strategic affairs for the Minnesota Hospital Association. His primary responsibilities include strategic planning, developing health care policy positions and agendas for the association, as well as analyzing and responding to federal and state health care legislation and proposed regulations. In particular, his work focuses on health care reform, payment and delivery system reforms, community benefits and needs assessments, and strategic positioning for hospitals and health systems.
Before joining MHA in 2006, Matt’s professional experience included serving as an assistant Minnesota attorney general in the charities division, prosecuting white-collar crime and handling legislative affairs for the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office, and providing legal and policy advice as an assistant general counsel for Minnesota State Colleges and Universities. Matt is a graduate of St. John’s University and received his law degree from the University of Minnesota.

Stephen J. Pribyl, Chief Executive Officer, District One Hospital
He has over 30 years of experience in healthcare serving in a variety of administrative roles and senior leadership positions with the United States Air Force, Mayo Clinic Health System, and Ministry Healthcare in Wisconsin. 
During his 22 year career in the Air Force, he served as the senior administrator at facilities in Turkey, England, California, and Illinois and on the staff of the USAF Surgeon General as well as staff of the Air Force Chief of Staff.  He retired from the Air Force in 1999 at the rank of colonel.
He completed his undergraduate work in Business Management at the University of St. Thomas and his Master’s degree at the University of Northern Colorado.  In addition, he completed a senior administrative fellowship at Kaiser Permanente of northern California.
He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), served as President of the Minnesota chapter of ACHE and is currently serving as Regent representing the Minnesota college affiliates at the national level.
Locally, he belongs to the Faribault Rotary, serves on the South Central College Presidents Advisory Council, and on the Board of Directors – HealthFinders Collaborative, Inc. 
 
 
Kymn Anderson, President, Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism
Kymn Anderson is President of the Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber is the voice of business in Faribault, promoting growth and prosperity through advocacy, marketing, promotions and services for members including seminars, special interest groups, leadership development and networking programs.  Kymn has served as our local chamber president for 16 years, and during that time has also been part of leading a number of statewide chamber programs including GROW MN Advisory Board and the MN Chamber of Commerce Execs organization.   The chamber’s key initiatives in 2013 and 2014 are workforce and business advocacy.
