Office and Events Coordinator

 Job Title:    Office and Events Coordinator
Reports to:   Operations Director,
Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism          
Effective Date: Upon hire

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Front office duties greeting visitors, routing calls, providing information about Faribault as well as The Chamber of Commerce, Chamber Trust, Faribault Industrial Corp and our Vision Task Force
Book, organize and execute Chamber events such as Business Before Hours, Mixers, Ribbon Cuttings and meetings
Create and update records ensuring accuracy and validity of Membership data
Set-up and manage needs for conference rooms and manage the shared spaces for usability and presentability
 
Additional Responsibilities and Duties
Attend some meetings as assigned to act as a second point of contact
Assist with mailings and distribution of newsletters, flyers and posters
Assist with social media promotions and posts as directed
Schedule and plan meetings and appointments
Coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with established policies
Maintain trusting relationships with customers (Members) and colleagues
Other duties as assigned
 
Required Skills/Abilities:

  • The selected candidate will have a “customer first” mindset
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Working knowledge of office equipment 
  • Thorough understanding of office management procedures
  •  Excellent organizational and time management skills
  •  Analytical abilities and aptitude in problem-solving
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Education and Experience:
Candidates should have at least some post-secondary education or a demonstrated set of work experiences related to the duties of this position.
 
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit for long periods of time; frequent bending or stooping to access files; required to walk steps frequently; able to lift, carry, and/or push/pull up to 50 lbs. infrequently; stand for long periods of time; travel for long distances; must have access to reliable personal transportation for frequent delivery of materials, meetings, and events.
