The Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce Ag-Business Committee invites you to hear more about a ABE (Ag-Business Epicenter).
Thursday March 5 at 12 noon
at South Central College Event Center in Faribault.
Jonathan Zierdt from Greater Mankato Growth will present information about their new initiative to support and develop the economic impact of agriculture in the region.
Here is what GMC said about their project:
Agriculture is currently the largest business industry segment across the South Central Minnesota Agricultural Region (SCMAR) with approximately $6.3 billion in sales annually. Spanning an economic continuum from production, processing, professional services, education, technology, research, manufacturing, transportation and more; a majority of businesses in the region are either part of ag’s value stream or indirectly impacted. The region boasts an extensive list of ag business concentration and industry dominance. To that end, GMG is partnering with ag businesses across South Central Minnesota and Northern Iowa to strategically build on and connect the region’s extensive ag business assets in order to develop and position the South Central Minnesota Agricultural Region as the premier ag business epicenter.
"Like other dominate industry clusters in the United States, Silicon Valley or The Research Triangle for example, if you are a person or a business that finds value in being connected to the ag business industry, the South Central Minnesota Agricultural Region is where you will want to be” said Zierdt.
