The Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has joined the Federation of Chambers in support of the following business priorties for the 2010 legislative session.
Spending Reform: The spending reform policy will focus on budget process reform, enhancing productivity of state andlocal government, and reducing overhead costs
Education Reform – Alternative Teacher Licensure:
Environmental Permitting: Streamlining, adding certainty and reducing the cost of the permitting process is important to economic development in the state.
Health Care Reform: The potential impact of federal healthcare reform legislation on Minnesota keeps this topic on the Chamber’s priority list.
Repealing the Nuclear Ban: All energy options must be onmthe table for Minnesota to remain competitive in the global economy

Business Day at the Capitol provides all sizes and types of companies the opportunity to network with peers and see the Legislature in action – while influencing public policies important to business. Seize this chance to personally share your concerns on the chamber’s major priorities
The session begins with a briefing on the business community’s top legislative issues and individual appointments with lawmakers at the Capitol.
