RCHS is offering two opportunities to hear Jan Stevens present a program on “Dressing the Dinner Table” on Thursday, April 25 at both 1pm and 7pm. Stevens will discuss house wares from Rice County homes from the 19th Century to today, and instruct how to locate and integrate them for your own 21st Century Dinner Table.
Stevens will discuss the historical significance of eating dinner together for families and friends. Stevens will discuss dinner etiquette of the past and present. You will have a chance to see and learn about place settings from the RCHS collection and Stevens’ private collection. If some of you wish you may bring a piece or two of your own for Jan to talk about.
Jan has a Bachelors Degree in Clothing and Home Furnishings from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
The program will begin at 7:00pm. at the Rice County Historical Society Museum of History, 1814 NW Second Avenue, Faribault MN. Refreshments will be served following the program.
