Faribault Farmers Market Family Day efforts receives boost from the Statewide Health Improvement Program
SHIP works to build a foundation of good health for all Minnesotans.
Faribault, Minnesota — The Faribault Farmers Market is hosting a Family Day to show off the market to kids and adults from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, in Central Park. “It’s fun to partner with the Faribault Farmers Market on making the healthy choice the easy choice,” says Josh Ramaker, Rice County SHIP Coordinator.
Healthy Rice County SHIP is supporting the Faribault Farmers Market Family Day with reusable grocery bags, hand washing station from the Minnesota Farmers Market Association, technical assistance, marketing and event organization.
Launched in 2008 as part of Minnesota’s bipartisan health reform effort, SHIP works to help Minnesotans live longer, healthier lives while building healthy, vital communities. SHIP encourages healthy eating, active living and avoiding commercial tobacco by working with school, communities, workplaces, and healthcare to make healthy choices easier.
