The Faribault Rotary Club is proud to be bringing Rachel?s Challenge to our community. Rachel?s Challenge, a program created to spread messages of kindness and compassion, will visit Faribault on Tuesday, November 3rd. This program is also being presented at 10 other regional schools. The program was created by the family of Rachel Scott, who was the first person killed in the 1999 Columbine High School shootings, to support her theory that ?If one person can go out of their way to show compassion, then it will start a chain reaction of the same.? This program is the largest in-school assembly program in the country and has been seen by more than 12 million people. Each program has three parts: an assembly where students learn about Rachel?s life and are challenged to make a positive impact on their world, ?Friends of Rachel training? for students and staff to develop leadership skills, and an evening assembly for the public. In order to spread this message of kindness and compassion to more students, Faribault is doing two assemblies at the high school. All Faribault High Schools students, BA students, Discovery students and the 8th graders from the middle school will be able to attend the assembly.
