Position Title: Administrative and Business Support Intern

The Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our team as an Administrative and Business Support Intern. This position offers an opportunity to develop valuable skills while contributing to the success of the Chamber’s initiatives and supporting local businesses.

Position Details:

- Hours: 12-16 hours per week
- Schedule: Flexible to accommodate academic or personal commitments

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Entry & Information Management:

  • Update and maintain accurate information on member & non-member businesses to support lead generation efforts.
  • Organize and manage business directories and databases.

2. Research & Development:

  • Conduct research to identify opportunities for community engagement and business outreach.
  • Assist in developing strategies and materials to support membership growth.

3. Administrative Support:

  • Provide general office assistance, including answering phones, organizing records and general cleaning and organization.
  • Assist with preparing materials for meetings, events, and communications.

4. Event Support & Organization:

  • Assist in planning and executing Chamber events, including setup, coordination, and follow-up tasks.
  • Support logistics for workshops, networking events, and other activities.
5. Lead Organization:
  • Ensure potential leads are tracked and organized for outreach by the Chamber team.
  • Collaborate with staff to streamline processes for capturing and managing business information.

Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Interest in business operations, community development, or nonprofit work.
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
  • Currently Enrolled in Highschool or College
