Position Title: Tourism Content & Digital Media Intern

The Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism is seeking a creative and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Tourism Content & Digital Media Intern. This internship offers a unique opportunity to develop valuable skills in digital marketing, content creation, and tourism promotion while showcasing the vibrant attractions and experiences Faribault has to offer.

Position Details:

• Hours: 15-20 hours per week
• Schedule: Flexible to accommodate academic or personal commitments

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation:

• Develop engaging and informative blog posts highlighting local attractions, events, and businesses.
• Write compelling copy for website updates and social media posts.
• Create content that encourages tourism.

Digital Media Management:

• Manage and update the Chamber's tourism-focused social media channels.
• Assist in maintaining and updating the Chamber's tourism website.
• Create and manage digital calendars of tourism focused events.

Photography & Visual Content:

• Capture high-quality photographs of local attractions and events for use in digital and print materials.
• Assist in creating visually appealing content for social media and website use.

Tourism Promotion:

• Research and identify opportunities to promote Faribault as a tourism destination.
• Assist in developing marketing materials and campaigns to attract visitors.
• Assist in tourism related event planning.

Data Entry & Information Management:

• Maintain accurate information regarding tourism related locations, events, and businesses.

Other:

• Event support: set-up, teardown and coordination assistance.
• Assist in board prep.
• Special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

• Strong creative writing and communication skills.
• Basic photography and visual content creation skills.
• Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing concepts.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Interest in tourism, marketing, and community promotion.
• Currently Enrolled in Highschool or College
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
