I personally believe that being a great HR leader or organizational leader, you need to be brave and I love this quote: "Being brave doesn't mean you aren't scared. Being brave means you are scared, really scared, badly scared, and you do the right thing anyway." - Neil Gaiman.
We have a fantastic presentation by James Olney on Bulling in the Workplace for our November Meeting.
Date: November 8, 2018
Time: 11:30AM - 1:00PM
Location: Owatonna Country Club
Bullying and bad behavior in the workplace are profoundly impactful to those who are targeted, as well as everyone around them. Not only do morale, engagement and productivity suffer great declines, but when bullying is mishandled or left unaddressed, it can lead to legal clams and even violence. As a result, it is critical that employers understand the importance of addressing bullying behaviors promptly and appropriately, along with the significant risks of failing to do so.
By the end of the session, you will better understand:
- The signs of bullying
- The types of environments that enable bullying
- The risks of mishandling or ignoring bullying
- The legal issues related to bullying
- The steps to take to address bullying
We are lucky to have James Olney, JD , Sr Vice President and HR Consultant presenting on this topic. He is a frequent speaker at trade shows and conferences and is a popular instructor at the University of Minnesota's College of Continuing and Professional Studies.
